The cover of Herp Review Volume 55 Issue 3 features the Beautiful Bronzeback (Dendrelaphis formosus), a medium- to large-sized, slender arboreal snake native to southern Thailand, the Malay Peninsula, Sumatra, Java, Borneo, and smaller surrounding islands. It is common in both primary and secondary lowland forests where it actively forages during the day, primarily targeting lizards and frogs. Pictured on the cover is a female D. formosus consuming one of south-east Asia’s ubiquitous flying frogs, the Harrisson’s Flying Frog (Leptomantis harrissoni). Predator–prey relationships in tropical herpetological systems like this one are an excellent demonstration of the evolutionary arms race that shapes morphology, behavior, and ecological specialization. Our cover image was captured by Jacopo Bartholomew during a class trip to the Danum Valley Conservation Area in Sabah, Malaysia.
