Dear Herp folks:

I am preparing for an amphibian movement/dispersal study in Spain and would like to utilize radio tracking devices to monitor the organisms.  Does anyone have experience in using radio tracking equipment for amphibian studies?  If so, I would be interested in getting opinions on the best/most preferred antennae and receivers to use.  I've heard the Telonics receivers are good, and the Holohil antennae systems seem to be the standard.  Any opinions?

Thanks.

Hi Dave,
For your telemetry related questions, I strongly recommend the relevant chapter in this great new book by C. Kenneth Dodd:  http://www.amazon.com/Amphibian-Ecology-Conservation-Handbook-Techniques/dp/0199541191/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1259442790&sr=1-1

Good luck on your project!
