The successful candidate will work with a diverse, established collection of herptefauna that includes Grand Cayman blue iguanas, Radiated and Galapagos tortoises, a variety of venomous reptiles, and crocodilians.  Duties entail maintaining good husbandry practices, animal observation, record keeping, exhibit construction and maintenance, as well as other assigned tasks.
Job requirements: Willingness to become a member of a dedicated, hard working team, a high school diploma or equivalent, availability for work on weekends and holidays, and ability to lift 50 pounds and climb ladders and fences.  Please send resumes and applications to Edna Peralta, Human Resources Dept. at Gladys Porter Zoo, 500 Ringgold St. Brownsville, TX 78520 or to eperalta@gpz.org.
